Mater Salvatoris – Environmental Science Club– Field Trip - Rio Piedras- Jardín Botánico

Hello: PR Water Cops CL:

Thanks for the support provided by the Mater Salvatoris Environmental Science Club. Remember our date for our visit to the Guaracanal stream (behind  Walgreens) in Cupey on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 9am to 11am.

The club has a total of 10 students between the ages of 10-11 years. We will be taking water samples for various sites, including pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, among others. For this data gatherin activity, our technology teacher (José Hernández) will be with us. Also, students' parents will join us.

The project is named PR Water Cops CL. It is an initiative of José Hernández, for which we are collaborating. The results and projects with these samples will be presented in the U.S. during the summer at the ISTE Convention in Philadelphia. (José has the details.)

Please let us offer a brief chat that day, right there at the site on the importance of the San Juan Ecological Corridor.

Merry Christmas!
